Alexander Nikolic, M.Sc
Born and raised in Sweden by emigrant parents from ex-Yugoslavia, Alexander is truly a multicultural Swedish citizen with an international background and speaks four languages (Swedish, English, German and Serbo-Croatian / Serbian).
He successfully managed projects in Europe and Asia, thus gaining a deep insight into cultural differences of various nations / regions.
Alexander started his career in 2000 within the M&A team at Arthur Andersen Corporate Finance (Stockholm & Dusseldorf) before joining in 2002 the packaging and consumer products firm SCA / Essity and its M&A team in Brussels. He was M&A Project Manager and stationed 3 ½ years in Brussels, 1 ½ years in Stockholm and 3 years in Shanghai, where he managed a number of successful acquisitions and divestitures of packaging & tissue companies in both Europe and China / Japan.
After Shanghai, Alexander joined in 2010 the nationalized Austrian banking group Hypo-Alpe-Adria Bank as Senior M&A Project Manager with the task to prepare assets for divestiture and leading the M&A process until final sale, but also with active management of subsidiaries (assets taken over via bankruptcy proceedings). This included work across the Balkan, mainly Croatia and Serbia, with projects such as divestiture of aluminum mill and packaging company in Croatia, management & divestiture of real estate entities in Serbia, divestiture of leasing business in the Ukraine and other.
In 2015, Alexander decided that he wanted to expand his area of expertise by opening an IT outsourcing company in Belgrade, Serbia, with a focus on the video gaming industry.
In 2016, he joined the global gaming company NOVOMATIC in Vienna as HR Project Manager in order to lead the implementation of an IT-based recruitment system across a number of countries (Serbia, the Netherlands, Spain, Iceland and Austria).
In 2018, it was back to the banking world for a short project at Raiffeisen Bank International in Vienna, within their NPL (non-performing loans) department in order to assist with restructuring of loans.
Since 2019, Alexander has been working with his own consultancy / M&A advisory firm, assisting clients with various work in Serbia.
Alexander received his M.Sc in Business Administration from Gothenburg University (Handelshögskolan) in Sweden with one exchange semester at Bond University, Australia.
